Trademark policy
How you may use the Planet Crust marks, in word or logo form, collectively the "Planet Crust Marks".
Product quality
It is fundamentally important to us that any permitted use of the Planet Crust Marks is of the highest quality and integrity and meets the highest standards. To ensure this is the case, we reserve the right to revoke your permission at any time.
Fair use
We acknowledge and support your right to make "fair use" of the Planet Crust Marks, and these guidelines leave fair use entirely free of any permission from us. Whether a particular use qualifies as "fair use" depends on its circumstances, so please judge each case carefully.
Our logos
For copies of the Planet Crust logo and the Aire AI logo, please contact us and we will send you the files.
Linking to our websites
We are pleased to permit you to link to planetcrust.com and aireapps.com from your website, using the logo graphics we provide. To use these logos you must agree that:
- the logos will be used only on the internet and only as a link to planetcrust.com, with favicon use excluded;
- you will describe your relationship with Planet Crust accurately, free of any implied or stated endorsement by Planet Crust;
- you will use the logos respectfully towards Planet Crust;
- your use of the logos will be honest and accurate in every regard;
- you will show Planet Crust content in its own browser window, free of any surrounding frame or border environment;
- you may link to Planet Crust content;
- your website will contain only content that is appropriate for all age groups and free of anything distasteful, offensive or controversial; and
- this permission may be rescinded at any time, in which case you will immediately remove the logos from your website.
Merchandise
You are welcome to use the Planet Crust Marks to produce merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, bags, jackets, sweatshirts, mugs and desktop wallpapers, and give them to your friends, family and community members, provided there is no commercial interest behind it. You must request permission if you want to distribute articles using the Planet Crust Marks commercially (see Contact).
Domain names
If you want to include all or part of a Planet Crust Mark in a domain name, you should seek our permission (see Contact). People naturally associate domain names with organisations whose names sound similar. Almost any use of a Planet Crust Mark in a domain name is likely to confuse someone, which runs against the overarching requirement that any use of a Planet Crust Mark is clear.
Publications
If you want to include all or part of a Planet Crust Mark in the name of a publication such as a book or magazine, you need our permission (see Contact). You can, however, use a Planet Crust Mark in, for example, the title of a review inside a magazine.
Product and service names
Please keep Planet Crust Marks out of the name of your product or service, whether it is commercial or non-commercial. This includes online services such as e-commerce, community, blog, informational, promotional and personal home page sites. We do consider it permissible to use a Planet Crust Mark in a file, folder, directory or path name.
Compatibility references
We recognise that the community needs a way to identify projects, products and services that are compatible with Planet Crust. Our aim is that users always know clearly whether a compatible project, product or service is official. Please indicate compatibility using one of the following tag-lines, or an equivalent:

Business names
Please keep Planet Crust Marks out of the name of your company or business.
Commentary
We welcome comment and constructive criticism, and we try to have a good sense of humour. It is fine to use the Planet Crust Marks in discussion, commentary, criticism or parody, in ways that stand clearly apart from any endorsement. Please keep the Planet Crust Marks out of the names of mock or parody products. In our opinion, "fair use" excludes using the Planet Crust Marks in a manner that disparages Planet Crust or the Planet Crust project.
All other uses
All other uses of the Planet Crust Marks are reserved by us, but we are happy to discuss terms for use.

These guidelines are published under version 3 of the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike Licence, and are derived in part from the openSUSE Trademark Guidelines (13 February 2017), which in turn derive in part from the OpenSolaris Trademark Policy 1.0 (5 May 2008) and the Ubuntu and Mozilla trademark guidelines.
