About us

Open source software for organisations that answer to somebody.

Planet Crust makes @Human, an AI governance platform, and Corteza, the low code platform underneath it. Run either on your own infrastructure, read every line of the source, and keep the records you will be asked for.

AI governance

@Human

Where you build AI agents and keep proof of what they did. Agent actions land in a log, failures become tracked incidents, and each AI system is classified against the EU AI Act and ISO 42001 as it is registered.

Platform

Corteza

The 100% open source low code platform @Human is built on. Corteza has been in production with enterprises, governments and NGOs for years, and we maintain it, support it and ship it under an open licence rather than a trial that expires.

Who we work with

Enterprises, governments and NGOs, in about a dozen industries

Call centres Compliance Finance Healthcare Insurance Logistics Manufacturing Military Oil and gas Professional services Refugee aid Retail Telecommunications

Governance is the thread running through all of it. A hospital answers to a regulator, a bank answers to an auditor, an NGO answers to the people funding it. Every one of them now has AI systems making decisions that somebody will eventually ask about. The obligation is the same whatever the industry. Only the paperwork changes.

The work varies more than you might expect. The same platform that runs a call centre in one organisation is running refugee aid logistics in another. That range is the reason we keep the platform general and let the people using it decide what it becomes.

Organisations are putting agents into production faster than they can account for them, and the ones carrying real risk need to show their work. We would rather they could do that on software they own.

What we believe

Four things we will not trade away

These are not marketing positions. They decide what we build and, more often, what we refuse to build.

Open source, properly

Not a crippled community edition with the useful parts behind a licence key. The software is open, and you can run it without us if you want to.

Your infrastructure, your data

Self-host it, or run it in an EU region. Your logs and audit records stay where you put them, which matters more every year.

No model lock-in

Connect three or four different LLMs and switch between them. Betting an organisation on a single AI vendor is a risk nobody needed to take.

A person stays in charge

Agents draft and stage. People decide. We build the limit into the system rather than trusting that someone is watching the screen.

Run it yourself

The whole point is that you do not need us

Every organisation using our software could, in principle, carry on without Planet Crust in the picture. That is not an accident we tolerate. It is the thing we set out to build.

01

Deploy it on your own infrastructure

One click from a cloud marketplace, or on your own servers if that is what your auditors want. An EU region if the data has to stay in Europe. You choose where it runs, and nothing phones home.

02

Open source, with nothing held back

The full platform, not a sampler with the governance features locked. You can read the source, change it, and fork it if we ever stop being useful to you.

03

Leave whenever you want

Your data and audit records are yours, in formats you can take with you. We would rather keep customers because the software earns it than because leaving is expensive.

Pay what you can

If the budget is small, pay what the budget allows

Self-hosting starts at a euro a month. Not a fourteen day trial, not a stripped down free tier. It is the same platform the enterprise customers run, priced at whatever you can genuinely afford. Small NGOs, public bodies and teams proving an idea should not be shut out of AI governance because the licence costs more than the project.

What you get for it
  • The complete platform, self-hosted
  • EU AI Act and ISO 42001 classification
  • Full agent audit logs
  • Community support
  • Room to move up when you need an SLA
Work at Planet Crust

We hire for potential, then find the role

We look for the right people first and work out where they fit afterwards. It is a slower way to hire and it has served us well.

The company is 100% remote, with people spread across Europe and further out. Flexibility is not a perk we advertise and then quietly discourage. It is how the company actually runs.

We are also, for what it is worth, a decent bunch of people who wear our integrity on our sleeves. If that sounds like somewhere you would do good work, write to jobs@planetcrust.com and tell us what you are good at.

What you get

  • A competitive salary that rewards performance and pays for innovation
  • Fully remote work, with the flexibility that growing families actually need
  • Time and materials for learning, not just a budget line nobody uses
  • Internal R&D projects to build skills on
  • Career planning around your ambitions, with the training to get there
